My name is Missy. I have an absolute passion for decorating and designing. If you are a first-time customer or absolute lover of Honey Brook, there’s always something new to see and explore.
Crafty Home By Missy is now Honey Brook after rebranding in January 2021. I chose this new name for two main reasons: My dad lived on a 148 acre farm in Honey Brook PA and to this day it's his favorite place. I have also felt a pull to this area after my dad's influence. Melissa, means "honey bee" and again, I've alway felt a connection to nature and bees. I feel like the meaning of my name fits.
I'm a first-generation college grad where I earned my degrees in Elementary Education and English. Things got real when I worked 40+ hours a week in clinical practicum (formally known as student teaching.) I went to school every day and came home to work 40+ more hours growing my business organically. I love school and learning, but home decor is another passion of mine.
After graduation and pursuing my career in education, I made the decision to make Crafty Home my sole focus. Here we are today and I’m so blessed to be growing my business and meeting so many fabulous decor lovers. I still work 7 days a week giving it my all in hopes of one day using this to support my family independently.
How It Started
Crafty Home began many years ago on Etsy. When I was finally ready to take on a business in college, the name Crafty Home By Missy stuck. Crafty Home represents all the creative décor lovers—no matter if you’ve been decorating your whole life or new to it! Crafty Home provides the most creative handmade and hand-picked décor. Since growing I made and designed my website where I’ve been based for over 3 years now with hundreds of décor items for your home! I started Crafty Home so that I could have a flexible work schedule to help get me through college—food, rent, textbooks—all the things.
I have always been interested in business—even when I was playing store as a little peanut in my room. I’m a down-to-earth, genuine person and with that, I’ve always had a big heart to give back. Every holiday season I give 10% of holiday profits to a nonprofit. This fall I’m also collecting donations for families in need. You can find more information in my “Donate” collection where you can help for as little as $1 simply adding it on to your décor order.
What My Business Stands For
I run this entire business myself so I can assure you that you will receive the best service from placing your order, to receiving it at your doorstep. What I'm trying to say is, you don't just get a product…you get the Crafty Home experience. I take care of all my customers like family—the way they deserve to be treated!
I choose to run things differently that big box stores on purpose. Let's get back to quailty over quanity. Let's get back to taking the time to make things special.
Giving Back to Communities
Every year since the beginning of Crafty Home, I choose non-profits to give back to during the holiday season.
This year from August-the end of the year (12/31/20) a porton of the profits from your order will be donated to
Family Promise & The Anna Foundation for Inclusive Education
We've also collected donations for supplying a local food pantry with necessary goods. This Crafty Home community has moved mountains, and with more of you joining in, we can contiune to good on the greatest level possible.
