All You Need to Know About Magnolia Table
As we were preparing for our trip to Magnolia for the first time, I really wanted some details about sight-seeing so I could best plan our quick trip to Waco. We had two full days and one half day when we arrived from our flights.
I wanted the scoop since I heard so many rumors about the beloved Magnolia Table. The gals who went to Silobration the week before said they waited hours. Knowing that it would be less busy, I didn’t anticipate that long of a wait but here’s what I found out and all about Magnolia Table.
First, it’s so cute that this is Chips dream business. They play off that a lot and they are so witty with billboards driving up the Waco with cute messages from Chip. We loved that special touch. We also loved seeing the Magnolia Table sign from afar with an adorable message that read “Voted best burger in town by me” -Chip.
Come on how funny and cute and totally goes along with the light hearted vibe of the Magnolia brand.
One thing we didn’t know was driving up to Magnolia Table was different than we thought. Since being in Waco for the first time we thought this was on a small highway but really it was just off the exit of a huge highway which was very busy from construction. It was also a few miles from the Silo District so it was definitely a drive through a busy Waco. Don’t get me wrong, this is just information and doesn’t take away from the experience at all! We loved exploring but had no idea what the area was like.
Magnolia Table was also on the far side of a circle and driving in NJ we know allll about them but for some reason the lines were pretty confusing so make sure you have a good navigator. We drove around I. A few circles to find parking. My Aunt also dropped me off while we found parking to wait in line.
Which brings me to my next note. I stood in about a 20 minute line out front of the restaurant for what I thought was for seating but really it was a line to get a buzzer and wait for our seats. I’ve never been to a restaurant waiting in line for putting our name down on a list. That was a new experience an honestly Magnolia is like our Disney World so I packaged my patience because I was going to eat there no matter what! Am I right?
All of the staff was so sweet and so nice. They had great customer service. I loved seeing the umbrellas at the hostess stand so if it rains Joannas got you covered and you can borrow one. It was such a sweet Joanna touch.
We had menus to look at while we waited. That way we picked our food quick when we got in to our seats. We explored all the different areas. Our phone would get a text when we were ready to be called in for our seat. We checked out all the seating areas as well as the cute little take out shop. There were obviously take out options but also a gift shop to poke around in and look at all the cute touches. I always look at the architecture because Chip and Jo always look at the details with intention. Make sure you step back and look around.
When we were finally called we got to see the inside and we’re so excited to see the cute restaurant we saw on HGTV. The signs were adorable all the way down to the patterns on the floors. It was excellent quality and clean.
When we walked in we were seated in the back room to the left on elevated stools facing a mirror. We sat in the community seating.
The first thing my mom and I ordered was pecan coffee. It was sweet and nutty and honestly the best cup of coffee I had in a really long time. The packets of sugar were so cute too (lol). My aunt tired the sweet tea of course. It’s so popular down south so we had to try it.
We got little lavender and lemon donut bites and our breakfast was amazing. Just look at it. We each had something the different. Here’s what everyone thought:
Mom: She loves the tomatoes which was a funny thing to note but they are different than our Jersey tomatoes that we grow in our garden. She really wanted to ask Jo what kind they were.
Me: I loved the portions. It wasn’t too much or too little. It was the comfort food breakfast that I was looking for!
Aunt Julie: She got pancakes and they were worth writing home about! They were so different than other pancakes we’ve ever had. So sweet and specially made. Can’t go wrong with these!
P.S. I thought the biscuits were amazing and there were a few options for toppings.
The service was so fast and friendly. My mom and aunt still talk about it to this day—especially my mom who really enjoyed the experience.
My suggestion would be take it all in, enjoy the whole experience, and try something different! Order different dishes so you can share and try different plates. Sit back, relax, and make memories that you’ll think of often.
